DAY 15: WORDSPIRED MOMENT OF IMPACT
TOPIC: UNDERSTANDING THE AWESOME POWER OF WORDS
INTRODUCTION
Words are not just mere expressions of thoughts; they are powerful forces that shape destinies. The Bible makes it clear that life and death are in the power of the tongue (Proverbs 18:21). Every spoken word carries creative power, setting things in motion in the spiritual and physical realms. Understanding the power of words is crucial for anyone who desires to live a victorious life.
UNDERSTANDING THE AWESOME POWER OF WORDS
The following are germane to words fitly spoken:
Proverbs 25:11 – "A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver."
1. Words Create Realities
Genesis 1:3 – "And God said, Let there be light: and there was light."
God created the entire universe through spoken words. As beings created in His image, we also have the power to create or destroy through our words. What we declare over our lives, families, and businesses determines the outcomes we experience.
2. Words Carry the Power of Life and Death
Proverbs 18:21 – "Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof."
Your words can bring healing or harm, success or failure. Speaking faith-filled words aligns you with divine possibilities, while negative confessions invite limitations.
3. Words Establish Dominion
Mark 11:23 – "For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith."
Mountains represent challenges, but Jesus taught that speaking in faith commands obstacles to move. The authority of believers is activated through words.
4. Words Influence Our Future
Numbers 14:28 – "Say unto them, As truly as I live, saith the Lord, as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you."
The Israelites who complained and spoke negatively never entered the Promised Land. Our confessions determine what we experience in life. If you desire a future of greatness, speak in alignment with God’s promises.
5. Words Can Heal or Destroy
Proverbs 12:18 – "There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword: but the tongue of the wise is health."
Healing, restoration, and encouragement are all released through words. Likewise, careless or harmful words can wound others deeply. We must be intentional about speaking words that build up and bring healing.
6. Words Spoken as Testimonies Have Replicative Power
Revelation 12:11 – "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony."
When we declare testimonies of God’s goodness, it creates an atmosphere for replication. Testimonies reinforce faith, and speaking them enables others to receive similar encounters. Every testimony spoken carries the seed of its reproduction.
7. The Spoken Word, When Done with Faith (Spiritual Understanding), Can Be Highly Prophetic
Ezekiel 37:4-5 – "Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the Lord. Thus saith the Lord God unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live."
Prophetic declarations align situations with God’s divine will. When words are spoken in faith, they do not return void but accomplish their purpose. Speaking with understanding activates supernatural shifts and breakthroughs.
8. Words We Speak in Tongues Have the Capacity to Change Things in the Invisible Realm, While the Ones We Say with Our Understanding Have the Capacity to Change Things in the Physical Spheres
1 Corinthians 14:2 – "For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries."
Mysteries modulate whatever is in the heavenlies, and via spiritual understanding, they are demodulated on earth for express manifestation. When we have the capacity to repeat what God says, we are no less than a prophet.
MEDITATIVE SCRIPTURES
Matthew 12:37 – "For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned."
Psalm 141:3 – "Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips."
Job 22:28 – "Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways."
Ephesians 4:29 – "Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth; but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers."
Isaiah 33:24 – "And the inhabitant shall not say, I am sick: the people that dwell therein shall be forgiven their iniquity."
