Day 18: UNDERSTANDING PURPOSE: THE KEY TO A FULFILLED LIFE
Many people live and die without ever discovering why they were born in the first place. They never crave to know why they showed up on this part of the divide. Why did God choose Earth and not Heaven to establish them? Where are I from? (Source), Who are my? (identity), Why am I here? (Purpose), What can I do? (Potential), And where am I going? (Destiny)
Purpose is not something we invent; it is something we uncover.
Dr. Myles Munroe, in his transformational book Unleash Your Purpose, emphasizes that “the greatest tragedy in life is not death, but a life without purpose.”
Understanding Purpose
Purpose is the original intent for which something is created.
Everything God made was designed with a specific function in mind.
The Bible affirms in Jeremiah 1:5,
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart.”
This means that our purpose was established before we were even conceived in our mother's womb!
Dr. Munroe of blessed memory always said, “When purpose is not known, abuse is inevitable.”
Many are trapped in cycles of frustration, failure, and emptiness simply because they live outside God’s plan.
Proverbs 19:21 reminds us, “Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.”
To truly discover purpose, we must return to our Creator.
The manufacturer always knows the function of His product better than anyone else.
Romans 8:28 assures us, “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.”
Steps to Discovering Purpose
- Seek God First – Your purpose is hidden in God. "If God gives such attention to the appearance of wildflowers—most of which are never even seen—don’t you think he’ll attend to you, take pride in you, do his best for you? What I’m trying to do here is to get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God’s giving. People who don’t know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works. Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don’t worry about missing out. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met."
Matthew 6:30 - 33 MSG This passage reminds us that when we align ourselves with God’s purpose and trust in His provision, everything we need will be taken care of. ๐ก๐ฅ
- Study His Word – The Bible is the manual for life. "By your words, I can see where I’m going; they throw a beam of light on my dark path."
This verse beautifully emphasizes how God’s Word illuminates our journey, guiding us through life’s uncertainties. When we walk in His purpose, His truth becomes the light that leads us forward! ๐ฅ✨ Psalm 119:105 MSG
- Recognize Your Gifts and Passion – Your design reveals your destiny. "Be generous with the different things God gave you, passing them around so all get in on it: if words, let it be God’s words; if help, let it be God’s hearty help."
This verse reminds us that our gifts and talents are meant to serve others. Purpose is not just about personal fulfillment—it’s about making an impact in the lives of those around us! ๐๐ฅ1 Peter 4:10 MSG
- Surround Yourself with Purpose-Driven People – Iron sharpens iron. "You use steel to sharpen steel, and one friend sharpens another."
This verse highlights the importance of godly relationships. Walking in purpose requires surrounding yourself with people who challenge, refine, and uplift you in your journey. Iron sharpens iron—choose your circle wisely! ๐ฅ๐กProverbs 27:17 MSG
- Commit to Service – Purpose is not about self-fulfillment alone but about serving others. "That is what the Son of Man has done: He came to serve, not to be served—and then to give away His life in exchange for many who are held hostage."
This verse reminds us that true purpose is found in service. Jesus, our ultimate example, lived a life of sacrifice and impact. As we walk in our God-given purpose, may we also live to serve and uplift others! Mark 10:45 MSG
A Call to Salvation
True purpose begins with a relationship with Jesus Christ. Without Him, life remains an unfulfilled journey. If you have not yet received Jesus as your Lord and Savior, today is the day of salvation!
Pray this simple prayer:
"Lord Jesus, I acknowledge that I am a sinner in need of Your grace. I believe that You died for my sins and rose again for my victory. Today, I surrender my life to You. Be my Lord and my Savior. Fill me with Your Spirit and guide me in my purpose. Thank You for saving me. Amen."
If you prayed this prayer, congratulations! Welcome to a new life in Christ! ๐ Please reach out so we can support you on this journey of faith.
