Day 26: Understanding the Place of Kingdom Citizens in the Marketplace

Meditation:

Key Scripture:

"The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!"Revelation 11:15 NKJV

Introduction: Kingdom Influence Beyond the Church

God’s original intent has always been for His children to rule and reign in every sphere of life. The marketplace—business, media, education, government, arts & entertainment, family, and religion—is a strategic ground where believers are called to manifest God's glory and establish His will.

Jesus did not call us to remain within the four walls of the church. He said in Matthew 5:14-16 that we are the world's light and the earth's salt. This means our influence must permeate all aspects of society.

The Seven Mountains of Influence are the major spheres that shape culture:

  1. Religion – Representing God’s kingdom and advancing His agenda through faith-based institutions.
  2. Family – Building godly homes that reflect Christ's love.
  3. Education – Raising a generation grounded in wisdom and truth.
  4. Government – Upholding righteousness, justice, and kingdom values in leadership.
  5. Media – Using communication platforms to spread the truth and counter ungodly narratives.
  6. Arts & Entertainment – Creating content that glorifies God and influences culture positively.
  7. Business & Economy – Driving kingdom wealth and resources to fund divine assignments.

The Role of Kingdom Citizens in the Marketplace

As kingdom ambassadors, our assignment is to:

  • Represent God's standards in whatever field we find ourselves. (2 Corinthians 5:20)
  • Bring transformation by being salt and light. (Matthew 5:13-16)
  • Operate with excellence and integrity to glorify God. (Colossians 3:23-24)
  • Finance kingdom projects through business and entrepreneurship. (Deuteronomy 8:18)
  • Influence and disciple nations through godly leadership and innovation. (Matthew 28:19)

Steps for Young People to Discover Their Gifts and Talents

Many young people struggle to identify their purpose. Here are practical steps to discover and refine your gifts:

1. Pray for Divine Revelation

Ask God to reveal your purpose and gifts (Jeremiah 33:3). Many biblical figures, like Joseph and Daniel, discovered their calling through divine encounters.

2. Identify What Comes Naturally to You

Pay attention to things you do effortlessly—these are often clues to your gifting (Exodus 31:2-5).

3. What Do Others Recognize in You?

Seek confirmation from mentors, teachers, and spiritual leaders. Others often see what we overlook.

4. Explore Different Areas

Sometimes, discovering purpose requires stepping out and trying new things. Engage in service, volunteer work, and diverse fields.

5. Develop and Refine Your Gifts

  • Read books, take courses, and gain relevant skills.
  • Submit to mentorship and discipleship.
  • Practice and improve consistently. (Proverbs 22:29)

6. Align Your Gifts with God's Kingdom Purpose

Your talents should not just serve you but must advance God’s kingdom (Matthew 6:33).

Call to Salvation: Entering the Kingdom for Impact

Before you can influence the marketplace for Christ, you must first submit to Him as King. The greatest decision you can make is to surrender your life to Jesus.

Romans 10:9 (NLT): "If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."

If you desire to receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior, pray this prayer:

"Lord Jesus, I acknowledge that I am a sinner and I need You in my life. I believe You died for my sins and rose again for my salvation. Today, I surrender to You. Be my Lord, my King, and my Savior. Fill me with Your Spirit and use me for Your glory. In Jesus’ Name, Amen."

Prophetic Prayers for Kingdom Influence

  1. Father, I receive the grace to function as a kingdom ambassador in my generation! (2 Corinthians 5:20)
  2. Lord, open my eyes to my gifts and talents, and help me refine them for Your glory! (Jeremiah 1:5)
  3. I decree that I will not be hidden—I will shine in my God-ordained sphere of influence! (Matthew 5:14-16)
  4. I reject distractions and worldly compromises; I choose to walk in divine purpose! (Romans 12:2)
  5. Father, raise and position me as a kingdom leader in my field, for Your glory! (Daniel 6:3)
  6. I prophesy divine opportunities, resources, and strategic connections to fulfill my assignment! (Isaiah 60:1-3)

Final Charge

Your calling is beyond survival—it is influence for kingdom impact. Step out boldly, refine your gifts, and take your place in the marketplace. The world is waiting for you! (Romans 8:19)

Prayer: Lord, open my understanding to Your Word so that I may live victoriously according to Your truth. "Lord, touch my heart with Your understanding. Let Your truth shape me from within."
